If you'd like to donate, perhaps there's something specific you'd like to donate to... I will be listing things below that you can get ideas from.
Ideas for Working with Amador High School Students
For the culinary and food students, we have dozens and dozens of herbs growing. Herbs are expensive, and we figure that's how we'll make money for our fundraisers. We'd like them to have access to these herbs for cooking, teas, saches, etc. in trade for garden maintenance or if they have a fundraiser using these herbs, we could divide the funds.
For floral - use our many thousands of flowers when you need to in trade for what you think is fair, too. We are working on a master plant list and plan on having something like an arboretum, and maybe there's something you can do with us there...
For art - we have access to microscopic images of butterfly scales, and sheds and walls and canvas to paint on - indoors and out. Even propane gas tanks...
make prints of photos from the tour to sell - make at Costco
kids sell pics of paintings from objects in the garden
For FFA, well, we want to raise butterflies and bugs and birds, and we're trying to find a person in Volcano who wanted to do this herself a few years ago. FFA and 4H, boy scouts, and other groups could definitely do something here, let's think about it. Whatever we can do, it's something to do with horticulture -- and you can have cuttings of any of our plants for your landscaping at AHS.
For welding, we need signs for the names of beds once they're agreed on, and statues that I've designs for that we want to pay you fairly for, too.
the school logo,
a roof welded up for the outdoor garden activity place
A butterfly life cycle statue would be nice.
- Plymouth elementary school gardens - 2: outdoor sign for my area on fence, and a visible one
- donors thank you sign for wall
- a Ming Store Arbor Sign
- garden bed signs
- welding kids with wire brush fix up zoo signs
-Ivvy has the class
And I really need people to help weed and maintain the garden and work with the little kids, so those seniors could be a big help. Shanel, a senior, will be working with me on coordinating this. Hopefully, some can help me during Fall Break.
